FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the most common questions we encounter from our clients

Do you do traditional estate sales?

No, we do not conduct traditional estate sales. We’ve found them to be intrusive for families, extremely labor-intensive, and often not cost-effective. Most clients end up using any sale proceeds to pay for a full cleanup afterward anyway. Instead, we focus on efficient, respectful, and environmentally responsible liquidation.

How do you keep items out of the landfill?

This is at the heart of what we do. We carefully sort every estate, prioritizing recycling and donation whenever possible. Items that aren’t suitable for donation or direct resale are directed to curated auctions, bulk lot liquidations, or responsible recycling partners. Our goal is maximum diversion from landfills while providing you with a clean, cleared property.

Why don’t you try to sell everything individually?

Most estate items are “low velocity” and actually carry an inverted value. For example, an antique piece of furniture bought 20 years ago for $200 may only have a current market value of $20. When you factor in the labor, transportation, storage, and selling costs, many items end up costing more than they’re worth. We are honest with clients about this reality so you can make informed decisions.

What items move the fastest / have the best value?

High-velocity items include:

Clothing and accessories — Currently some of the strongest performers in estates, whether through resale or recycling by the pound. We have strong outlets for these items.

Precious metals (gold, silver, etc.) — These can be quickly and responsibly sold for scrap value.

Other recyclable materials that have steady demand.
